Alpaca Trekking & Experience
Pembrokeshire Alpaca trekking offers the opportunity for you to meet the Alpacas, walk approximately one mile with them with a halter, feed them in their natural habitat, interact with them, all whilst enjoying the amazing views we have from our farm.
We are open all year round, but our trek times and dates sometimes differ depending on the time of year. Please check our online booking system for available treks.
Prices - Alpaca Treks
One person to one Alpaca: £25. (must be 14 or above).
Two persons to one Alpaca: £40 (One person must be 14 or above).
We do offer exclusive group bookings for larger numbers and special occasions. Please contact us to discuss this.
Key points
You must be 14+ to walk your own Alpaca.
If you are between 5-14 years of age, then you must share an Alpaca with a responsible adult (14+).
Strictly no children under the age of 5 on the trekking.
A maximum of 2 people per Alpaca.
We walk in any weather (unless forecast is REALLY windy AND wet in which case we will contact you ) so please come dressed accordingly.
In summer months, hats, sun cream and insect repellent are recommend.
Dogs are allowed on site, if kept on a lead. However, they will not be able to come on the trek.
The trek is approximately 1 mile long. It is across farm land, grassland, through woodland and there are inclines and underlations. Therefore we suggest bringing wellies or suitable footwear, and a change of shoes following the trek.
The walk is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. We do accommodate disabled people though to meet the Alpaca’s without the trek. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please do not arrive more than 30 minutes before your slot.
How it works
You will arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled slot where you will then be greeted by Rob.
You will be expected to sign a waiver prior to the trek. This can be seen here.
You will receive a health and safety chat and a quick briefing on how to hold and handle your Alpaca.
We then halter the Alpacas, and introduce you to them. At this point we will tell you about the history of the Alpaca, what makes them so loveable and unique, as well as many fun facts about them. At this point you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
We will then begin the 1 mile trek around the farm with you holding your Alpaca with the halter and walking alongside him.
We will stop half way around with an opportunity for photos, and a rest by tying your Alpaca up. Over the trek, you will be able to admire the amazing views on the Pembrokeshire Coast.
We then complete the trek and return the Alpacas to the shed. You can then feed the Alpacas if you wish.
We finalise the experience with a quick debrief & washing of your hands.
The trek will take around 60 minutes, but with the brief, and the debrief you should allow up to 90 minutes - 120 minutes for the whole experience.
Cancellations/Refunds:
Once booked you may rearrange or cancel your visit up to 28 days before your scheduled walk date. After this time, no cancellations or refunds are accepted.
If you are late for your designated Alpaca Trekking slot, then you will miss the trek and not be granted a refund.
